Hon. Sanya Ominrin

The member representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Sanya Omirin, has described the resignation of some members from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a personal decision that will not affect the unity and strength of the party ahead of the 2026 Osun Governorship Election.

Reacting to recent political developments within the party, Omirin said the APC remains stable, united, and focused on securing victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship poll. He noted that individuals are free to make political choices based on their personal interests, stressing that such decisions are part of democratic practice and do not determine the overall strength of a political party.

The federal lawmaker maintained that the APC remains firmly rooted across Osun State with strong grassroots support, adding that the departure of a few members cannot weaken the party’s structure or electoral prospects.

Omirin expressed confidence in the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), describing him as a credible and widely accepted candidate capable of leading the APC to victory in the forthcoming election.

He further stated that the party’s campaign machinery remains active across the state and urged members and supporters not to be distracted by the movement of individuals.

The lawmaker called on APC faithful in Ijesa South Federal Constituency and across Osun State to intensify mobilisation efforts in support of the party and its candidate, while reaffirming the APC’s commitment to good governance and development for the people of the state.
