The Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Owo Oluwa Wonder Parish, Ilesha, Osun State, Olatunji Oluwaseun, has responded to public criticism following a viral video showing him praying for male and female church members while they were under his garment.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, obtained by Thecasternews sparked mixed reactions, with many users questioning the appropriateness of the prayer method and expressing concerns about the image of the church.
Reacting to the controversy, Olatunji said the act was carried out under what he described as spiritual direction and denied any sexual motive.
“It was the Spirit that directed me to pray like that. My son was also among those I prayed for. I had no sexual intention whatsoever, and I didn’t mean to tarnish the image of the Celestial Church. I wore clothes underneath the garment. I hereby tender my apology. I didn’t know the church’s media team uploaded it. I am very sorry,” he said.

While some supporters believe the shepherd’s explanation and apology should be accepted, others maintain that such practices are inappropriate, particularly when involving female congregants, and have called for greater caution and accountability in church activities.
