The Osun State Joint Labour Movement has urged civil servants, public sector workers, artisans and pensioners across the state to immediately collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from their respective Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Local Government Area offices.

In a press release issued to Newsmen Obtained by Thecasternernews, the labour movement said the call followed INEC’s decision to extend the PVC collection exercise. It stated that the collection window opened on Saturday, August 1, and will run until Friday, August 7, 2026.

The labour unions stressed that the PVC remains a vital tool for citizens to demand good governance, secure their future and participate in the democratic process. They urged all registered voters, including those who recently applied for voter transfer or replacement of lost or damaged cards, to take advantage of the extension and collect their PVCs without delay.

The statement also warned against waiting until the final days of the exercise, describing civic participation as a collective responsibility that no worker or pensioner should ignore.

The press release was jointly signed by the Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Osun State Council, Comrade (Dr.) Christopher A. Arapasopo; the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade ‘Bimbo Fasasi; and the Chairman of the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), Comrade Lekan Adediran.
