
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election, who doubles As a medical practitioner, Dr. Oyelami Saliu, has cautioned political groups, association or individual against wishing the incumbent Governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke dead.
Dr. SALIU Oyelami made this known on Friday during the 10th Media Parley organised by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA),obtained by thecasternews while commenting on the recent stage collapse involving the governor.
The governorship candidate said he wished the governor a long life beyond November 27, 2026, after the election, declaring that, “Adeleke will not die; so he will be alive, healthy to hand over power to me.”
According to the PRP candidate, the current administration “has done its best,” but stressed that Osun needed a new direction.
He said, “The incumbent governor of Osun State has done his best. Clearly, it is time to change the current leadership. It is time for the PRP to take over the reins of governance in Osun State.
Speaking on Governor Adeleke’s performance in office, Dr. Saliu said the governor had done his best, but maintained that his best was not enough for the people of Osun State.

No doubt Osun residents deserve a government that will deliver greater economic prosperity, improved healthcare, quality education, youth empowerment, and sustainable development across all sectors.
Orisunlagba added that “If Governor Adeleke was doing well enough, I would not be contesting against him”.
