The newly reaffirmed Olokutuope of Okutuope Ilesa, Chief Ajewole Adegboye, has expressed deep appreciation to His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Hastrup Ajimoko the third, the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, for his fatherly role and firm commitment to justice.
Speaking after the recognition at the Adimula Court, Okeemese, Ilesa, With thecasternews, Chief Ajewole said the entire Ajewole Adegboye dynasty of Okutuope appreciates the Owa’s wisdom in upholding the 2025 Supreme Court judgement that affirmed his installation by the late Oba Adekunle Aromolaran in 2017.
“Kabiyesi, Owa Clement Adesuyi Hastrup Ajimoko the third and Owa-in-Council ( Agba Ijesa), has shown that Ijesaland respects tradition, law, and truth,” Chief Ajewole stated.
“We commend our father , the highly revered Kabiyesi for engaging all chiefs on security and for ensuring that peace and due process prevail over personal interests.”
The Olokutuope of Okutuope also extended gratitude to the people of Ijesaland, for their patience and prayers during the period of contention, and to the Court of Law for standing firm on facts and justice.
“The Supreme Court has spoken. Today, the Ajewole Adegboye dynasty of Okutuope is grateful. This victory is not for me alone, but for our ancestors, our community, and the integrity of the Olokutuope stool.”
Chief Ajewole further commended Kabiyesi’s decision to confer a new chieftaincy title on Chief Olowe at no cost, describing it as a gesture of unity and magnanimity that reflects the Owa’s fatherly heart for all sons and daughters of Ijesaland.
“Ijesaland is one. Under Kabiyesi’s leadership, we will continue to work together for peace, security, and the development of our land,” he added.
The recognition marks the end of a long chieftaincy dispute over the Olokutuope stool, with Kabiyesi declaring Chief Ajewole Adegboye as the duly recognized Olokutuope of Okutuope Ilesa in line with the apex court’s ruling.
