The Political Landscape In Oriade Local Government Area Of Osun State Has Witnessed a Significant Development Ahead Of The 2027 General Elections, As The Accord Party Chairman In Erin-Ijesa, Hon. Oni Toyin, Defected To The All Progressives Congress (Apc) Alongside Hundreds Of Supporters And Several Prominent Party Members.
According to report closely monitored by our Correspondet, Thecasternewsng.com, The Defection Took Place On Sunday, With Hon. Oni Toyin Leading His Supporters To Join The Apc. Among Those Who Defected With Him Were Hon. Abimbola Fakankun, Fadipe Idowu, Elijah Olalekan, And Other Notable Members Of The Accord Party In The Area.
In The Meantime, The Defectors Were Received By Apc Leaders In Oriade Local Government Area, Particularly In Ward 2, Erin-Ijesa.
Those present at the reception included a representative of the member representing the House of Representatives, Hon. Oluwole Oke, Comrade Segun Omolebi, the APC House of Assembly candidate for the constituency; Hon. Akinmoladun; the Oriade Local Government Secretary, Hon. Awotayo Adewumi; Elder Hon. Abolarinwa Oluwasegun; APC Ward 2 Chairman, Elder Hon. Ige Olayinka; Hon. Bunmi; and the ward secretary, Oni Adunni, alongside other prominent party leaders and members.
The reception marked the formal welcome of Hon. Oni Toyin and his supporters into the APC, where they joined the party’s existing membership in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Hon. Oni Toyin described their decision to join the APC as long overdue. He attributed the move to the developmental projects and employment opportunities facilitated by the incumbent federal lawmaker representing the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, which he said had convinced them to identify with the party.
He maintained that the APC remains a political platform where genuine democrats can thrive and democratic ideals are upheld. He also expressed confidence in the party’s commitment to democratic participation.
Hon. Oni Toyin further called on his political associates and supporters to join the APC, urging them to align with the party as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
The defection adds to the unfolding political developments in Oriade Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 general elections.
