The Ijesa Youth Forum has condemned the recent killings in Ilesa, describing the incidents as disturbing and a threat to the safety of lives and property in the community.

In a statement signed by its Acting President, Aderonke Simiat Gbadamosi, a copy obtained by thecasternews, the forum called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect residents and ensure that those responsible for the attacks are apprehended and prosecuted.

The youth body expressed concern that the incidents could damage the peaceful reputation of Ilesa and discourage indigenes and investors from returning to, visiting, or investing in the community.

According to the forum, peace and security are essential for sustainable growth and development, noting that no community can attract meaningful investment and progress in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.

The forum also appealed to traditional rulers, elders, community leaders, and other stakeholders to collaborate in addressing the root causes of the violence and preventing future occurrences.

While extending condolences to the families of the victims, the Ijesa Youth Forum reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at promoting peace, security, and development across Ilesa and the entire Ijesaland.
