Ijesa Sports Club has described its forthcoming investiture and awards ceremony as a celebration of Ijesa heritage, leadership and unity.
The event, scheduled for July 4, 2026, will witness the installation of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Dr. Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, as Grand Patron of the club.
The ceremony will also see the swearing-in of newly elected officers led by President Otunba Jare Ayo Martins and will be chaired by retired Brigadier General Bashir Abiodun Adewinbi.
In a statement signed by Prince Wale Oyekanmi, the club said the occasion would provide an opportunity to honour distinguished personalities and organisations whose contributions have advanced the cause of Ijesaland.
Among those listed for recognition are Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, Hon. Najeem Folasayo Salam, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, Hon. Alaba Popoola, Hon. Fausat Sarumi Adebanjo, Chief Mrs. Folake Idowu Korede, the late Hon. Idowu Korede, Mr. S.A. Adewumi, Oba Festus Kayode Awogboro, Oba Hezekiah Adeniyi Owolola, Chief Mrs. Toyin Nwanze and Rest Park Gardens.
The club called on members, friends and well-wishers to attend the event, which it said would mark another significant chapter in its history.
