Dr. Saliu Oyelami
The governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in the forthcoming 2026 Osun State governorship election, Dr. Oyelami Saliu Orisunlagba, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring justice, fairness, and equal treatment for all religious groups if elected as governor.
Dr. Oyelami made the pledge during a Stakeholders meeting with the leadership of the Osun State Muslim Community (OSMC), the umbrella body of Muslims in the state, led by its President, Alhaji Engineer Mustapha Adeleke Olawuyi, at the OSMC Secretariat.
In a Statement Obtained by TheCasterNews, The engagement forms part of the Orisunlagba campaign’s ongoing consultations with major religious communities across Osun State, following earlier meetings with Christian and Isese traditional religious groups.
Addressing representatives of mosques and Muslim organisations across the state, the PRP candidate stressed his commitment to sustaining peace and protecting the constitutional rights of all religious adherents. He assured the Muslim community that his administration would uphold justice and fairness without discrimination.
“I will be just and fair to the three religious groups,” Dr. Oyelami stated, emphasizing his resolve to promote religious harmony and inclusiveness in governance.
The PRP candidate was accompanied by leaders of the recently inaugurated Osun Coalition of Political Parties for Orisunlagba, including the PRP State Chairman, Hon. Kassim Raji; NDC State Chairman, Hon. Dr. Charles Ìdòwú Omidiji; NNPP State Chairman, Hon. Francis Kayode Oyebamiji; and the ADC Chairman in Boripe (Iragbiji), Alhaji Ganiyu.
Speaking on behalf of the coalition, the party leaders described Dr. Oyelami as the most credible and competent candidate to lead Osun State from 2026. They cited his political experience, personal sacrifices, distinguished career as a medical doctor, numerous local and international honours, and years of dedicated service to the people as qualities that set him apart.
The coalition also expressed confidence that Dr. Oyelami possesses the leadership capacity required to deliver inclusive governance and sustainable development for Osun State.
